We minimise our energy usage thanks to smart lighting controls and LEDs throughout which cut consumption while keeping spaces working for those in them.
Heating controls are actively managed through measures like well-placed thermostats and the monitoring of heating settings to avoid wasted usage.
And, behind the scenes, we track performance so those working at The Causeway enjoy comfortable temperatures and reliable airflow without excess energy.
We also replace systems reaching the end of their life with higher-efficiency models so that the baseline improves year on year.

Throughout The Causeway are comprehensive recycling spots for paper, plastics, and electronics which are located right where you need them and with clear signage, sorting is easy.
Our digital first approach also helps to reduce the need for paper usage across our entire operations, from onboarding to notices and reporting.
We also work with local recycling providers in Warrington to ensure waste disposal is handled responsibly with verifiable outcomes.

Greener travel choices.
We make it easy to travel the environmentally friendly way with secure bike storage and shower facilities for those who enjoy cycling in. For drivers, we have EV charging stations being installed on site to support-low emission commutes.
Handy wayfinding signage as well as help from our concierge team make it easy to use nearby transport links that can connect you with major cities like Manchester and Liverpool. Whether you train and cycle or car share with colleagues, we make it easy for you to opt for the greener choice.

We’re constantly looking to improve on our sustainability efforts which is why we’re upgrading our insulation and glazing to improve thermal performance and comfort no matter the season.
We’ve made a significant investment in a high-efficiency boiler which reduces gas consumption and has a smaller environmental impact. To maximise the impact we’ve also fully isolated valves and flanges to limit heat loss across The Causeway.
Day to day maintenance keeps everything running efficiently and our team makes proactive replacements to ageing parts to keep efficiency at its best. When working at The Causeway you can focus on your task at hand safe in the knowledge you’re working in a planet-friendly building.
Partners & procurement.
We vet visiting contractors to uncover their sustainable practices, whether its waste handling or material selection, to see if they align with us. And, our building operations are managed with sustainability in mind through things like fewer deliveries and smart scheduling.
